Assign Permission to Create Public Groups

This article is intended to show how to give a user permission to create public groups within a system.

By default, only the admin has permissions to create public groups.

If you would like to give others the ability to create public groups, follow the steps below.

First, log into an account that has permissions to create public groups already. Then navigate to the public groups folder. This is done by expanding My Groups from the menu. Then click on Public.

From the folder click on Modify Permissions (lock icon)

This will bring up the permission window. By default, everyone has read permissions to public groups.

*It is recommended that you do not change that permission.

Select Users from the User Groups dropdown list then select which user you would like to give permission.

From the permission list select Create Items.

Finally click the (+) icon to add the names.

The user that was just added will now have the ability to create public groups. They may need to relog into the system for the change to take effect.
