Create an Activity

This article will guide you through the process of creating a new activity.  The List Maintenance permission is required for this task.  If you do not have access to List Maintenance, please contact whoever is responsible for user maintenance at your organization.

Access List Maintenance

From the main dashboard screen, open the Dashboard Menu by clicking the icon towards the upper left hand side of the window.

Select the List Maintenance option from the Dashboard Menu.

Open the New Activity Dialog

From the List Maintenance window, click on the "Add New Activity" button, found towards the top left portion of the window.

Enter Activity Information

From the New Activity Dialog, enter activity information and establish any additional connections to departments, groups, or procedures.

Code Number - The alpha-numeric code used to represent the activity, up to ten characters

Code Name - The full name of the activity.  Can not exceed 150 characters.

Is Active - When checked, the activity can be used when creating a calendar item.  If not checked, the code is considered "inactive", and cannot be used.  Inactive codes will still appear on calendar items that were already using the code before it became inactive.

Category - The category the activity falls under.

Time Restrictions - Places restrictions on calendar items.  A calendar item can not be saved or created if it does not meet the requirements set here.

Min Value - The minimum duration, in minutes, a calendar item must be in order to use this activity.

Max Value - The maximum duration, in minutes, a calendar item must be in order to use this activity.

Can Override? - When checked, time restrictions set can be overriden.

Links

Department - If the Is Linked checkbox is marked, the activity is a member of that department.

Groups - If the Is Linked checkbox is marked, the activity is a member of that group.

Procedure - If the Is Linked checkbox is marked, the activity maps to that procedure.

Save the Activity

Click on the "Save Group" button, found towards the lower right portion of the dialog, to create the activity.
