Unlocking User Accounts

Once the number of password attempts has been reached on dashboard, that user's account is locked for a period of time.  During that time, it will need to be unlocked in order for them to be able to try logging in again.  This article details unlocking a user's account on dashboard, as well as how to tell if an account is currently disabled.

Disabled Account

Each company can configure how many attempts a user gets when attempting to login.  This number is configured under Company Maintenance.  When a user's account is first disabled, they will see a message similar to the one below.

This message can also be customized to include point of contact information for resetting an account.  This information is also set under Company Maintenance.

User Maintenance

The first step for re-enabling a user account, is to access the User Maintenance view.  This can be done from the left menu.

From the User Maintenance view, locate the user account that needs to be unlocked.  The User Maintenance screen will indicate whether or not an account is locked in the "Login Disabled" column of the grid.  Open the user's account.

Re-Enable the Account

Once the locked account is open, the system again indicates that the account is locked by displaying a red bar across the top of the user's information.

The account can be re-enabled by clicking on the "Re-enable Account" button in the lower right corner, which also only appears for a user account that has been locked due to too many failed login attempts.

If necessary, make sure to reset the password after the account is re-enabled.  If the user has additional issue logging in after the account is re-enabled, have them clear their temporary internet files before attempting to login again.
