Connect IMAP widget to GMail

Create an app password in GMail

You cannot use your main password to connect to GMail over IMAP.  An app password will need to be created first.

Log into your GMail account, and go to your account.

Next click on the Security option in the menu.

Scroll down to the Signing in to Google section, and click on App Passwords

Under Select device, choose Other (Custom name) . This will allow you to name the password in case you have others

Enter a name for this password, and click the generate button.

You will see a dialog that contains the generated password. Save this as you will not be able to see it after you close.
